Battery recycling

Wellington City Council

Did you know you can recycle your household batteries for free?
We have created seven drop-off stations around the city where you can take your batteries to be separated for re-use, recovery and re-processing.
The locations are:

📍 Island Bay Community Centre
📍 Karori Library
📍 Kilbirnie Library
📍 Newlands Community Centre
📍 Tawa Community Centre
📍 Te Awe Library (CBD)
📍 Tip Shop at the Southern Landfill

Used batteries are no longer allowed in your kerbside rubbish as they can leach harmful chemicals into soil and waterways, so it’s important to keep them out of the landfill.

Head to our website for more information.

Stamps wanted

Marty from Johnsonville

I run a Stamp club at Tawa School to encourage children to collect stamps and learn about countries, history and more. Unfortunately new stamps aren't often seen these days as it's all electronic! If you have any stamps or old collections sitting around, let me know and I'll come and get them.
