Support the Compassion Soup Kitchen’s Appeal

Compassion Soup Kitchen

For the last 120 years, the Compassion Soup Kitchen has served hot meals to people doing it tough with no questions asked. Because of the generosity of Wellingtonians like you, no one has ever been turned away due to a lack of food.

Today, our meal service is needed more than ever! We hit record numbers during Level 4 Lockdown serving 230 meals a day, 7 days a week. Can you help us continue to feed those that need it most?

Donate to our annual appeal today and provide a nutritious meal for people living on the margins.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
