Tawa Rotary donates Emergency Response Kits for cyclone relief
Following Cyclone Harold that caused major damage in the Pacific on April 9th, Rotary has distributed 600 Emergency Response Kits (ERKs) for needy families in Tonga, Fiji and Vanuatu. Distribution has been a massive undertaking given the scale of the need, the damage to infrastructure, disruption to normal transport systems, and the remoteness of some of the islands and villages.
These kits are designed to include everything that is needed for basic survival and are valued at $600. The 600 ERKs must now be replaced with urgency, ready for the next disaster.
