Wellington Water, on behalf of Wellington City Council, is about to get underway with a new project to improve the performance and resilience of Tawa’s drinking water network. It involves renewing an ageing section of asbestos cement watermain between number 68 Main Road and the Redwood Avenue roundabout.
This project will improve the drinking water network’s resilience, reducing the risk of emergency repairs and or outages, and will provide a more reliable water supply for the area. This will start during the school holidays. The diversion will be directing all Northbound traffic away from Main Road and down Redwood Avenue and will take about four months to complete.
