On Thursday, Regional Public Health (RPH) Wellington issued information sheets about the highly-contagious disease to early childhood centres and schools.

While there have been no reported measles cases in Wellington over the past year, RPH said the upcoming school holiday period – April 13 to 28 – meant families could be exposed. Read more here.

RPH was advising anyone who has not been vaccinated against measles to make an appointment for the jab at their local medical centre. The vaccination is free. Click here to find out everything you need to know about the outbreak.

Anyone who suspects they may have measles should stay away from work, school or public places to help prevent putting others at risk. They should also isolate themselves from family members who are not fully immunised.

Hi neighbours,
My name is Caitlin and I am available for animal care/housesitting/evening dog walking in Wadestown and surrounding suburbs starting immediately. I have recently completed a degree in Early Childhood Education and am now working in this area during the week but have been enjoying housesitting experiences especially with animals lately.

Last year we had to say goodbye to our cat Mischief and I have found housesitting with animals greatly enjoyable since I no longer have my own pets. I have experience caring for cats, dogs, fish, rabbits and even chickens and horses (I was a horse owner for 7 years).

Reasonable rates for all services, can be flexible and discussed based on individual needs (generally starting from $10/day for animal care and housesitting for one animal). I have a comprehensive first aid certificate as well as my full driver's licence.

References also available.

Feel free to message me here or give me a txt on 0278213969 to start discussions.

Cheers!
Caitlin
