Climate march on Friday 3 March

Violet from Newtown

The extreme weather New Zealand is experiencing was made worse as a result of climate change. We are standing in it. Join us in our demand for urgent climate mitigation (reducing emissions) and adaptation.
Meet at Civic Square at 2pm on 3 March. We'll march down Willis Street and Lambton Quay, to Parliament grounds. This is a peaceful, intergeneration action - so bring your friends, family and workmates, and also your protest signs, sun protection and water!
Fridays for Future Te Upoko o Te Ika and School Strike for Climate Te Whangananui-a-tara.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
