Conservation is more than cute birds

Zealandia Eco Sanctuary

It is also a lot of hard work, and it never stops.

Breeding season is just around the corner, and with weeks in lockdown without visitors and still no international tourists, Zealandia needs your help.

Your donation helps to keep Zealandia safe, giving rare and endangered native birds a place where they can live freely, breed and have another chance of survival.

$15 could provide supplementary food for kākā for a day
$25 could feed the takahē for a month
$350 could purchase the bird banding equipment needed for the season

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
