Finding a rental

Daniel from Aro Valley

Hi Neighbours
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this balmy Autumn. Our lovely flat has been living on Abel Smith St for the past 4 years and unfortunately the winds of change are coming, we've been informed of a possible sale by our landlord and may well have to find new accommodation. We are two couples and a single, looking for a 3 bedroom house in the sort of general vicinity of Aro/Northland/Kelburn (although we are very easy ultimately and cant be picky). We are all hardworking creative types, with many a project on the go. Ideally we'd like a place to make our own and fill with love. And a landlord who wants to feel like their property is in good hands and they are providing a real home environment to provide us with the energy and stability we all want so that we can pursue our art, music and writing. I am aware of the current rental climate and understand that its a long shot, but here I am, attempting to circumvent the negative feelings surrounding the property market to appeal directly to you. Ask and ye shall receive and I am asking. Neighbours, please, do us a solid, if you know of anyone at all or a house that might fit the bill then please let me know. If you felt like copying this post to reach beautiful Wellingtonians further afield, that would be greatly appreciated. We would love to remove the stress of finding a house from our life and carry on making Wellington a better place to live with our love and presence. My number is 0220800645 or danielwb14@gmail.com works too. Much Love from Daniel, Felix, Mattea, Ellen & Andrew

Poll: 🤖 What skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑

Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.

For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.

Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?

We hope this brings a smile!
