Come and try Spin Poi before Christmas
Playing with poi is a lot of fun! SpinPoi can be done sitting or standing and is suitable for almost everyone. Inspired by traditional poi, it has been adapted by Dr Kate Riegle van West to be a safe and effective exercise, especially for older populations. On top of the usual benefits of exercise, typically people will see improvements in grip strength, attention, focus, balance and coordination.

Friday, 4 December, from 11.15 am to 12.00 pm
Price: $4
No need to book. Poi provided. Or there some new sets available for sale if you want your own personal set. The class is suitable for beginners to intermediate. It will be 45 minutes long and we cover:
o Welcome, safety reminders and warm up
o Practice of basic poi movements
o Playtime! 20-25 minutes of poi to music
o Cool down
Deb Gully has been leading seated exercise for seniors for more than 10 years and is now Wellington's first certified SpinPoi instructor. He is a medium-ish sized cat with short glossy black fur and golden eyes. He has a half dozen white hairs on his chest and a tiny patch of white fur on one toe. In the sun or bright light his fur has dark brown stripes hiding in the black. He's microchipped.
If you live between 400 and 500 Ohiro road could you please keep an eye out for him? He might have decided he likes you and if he has- please kick him out and send him on home. He's pretty good at begging with his tiny pitiful chirps but he's well fed! He's very loved and the kids and I are really missing him.
