Every journey begins and ends with a single step. On Sunday the 22nd November 2020, Alex embarked on a 132-day, 3000km journey that took him walking from Cape Reinga to Bluff.

Along the way, he was humbled by the ever-changing landscapes he moved through and the endlessly generous people he met. Join Alex as he shares some photos of the trail and reflections on the meaning of adventure, growth and simplicity which he discovered through putting one foot in front of the other.

He will be speaking at the worship service from 10am on Sunday 31st October, at St Ninian’s Uniting Church, Karori.

The service will also be virtually accessible via zoom. All are welcome!

In light of ShakeOut, New Zealand's national earthquake drill, we thought we would share the progress of one of our milestone projects; Omāroro Reservoir. 👷

The Omāroro reservoir project is one of the ways Wellington Water is working to make our water network more resilient in the event of disruption or disaster. The new 35 million litre reservoir is set to more than double Wellington City's stored water supply. Our crews have been hard at work and resurrected 34 walls and one column in recent weeks. You can see the sheer scale of the reservoir walls in the photos below! 🏗

Remember, after a big shake the pipes could be broken and while our crews work to repair them you'll need to rely on your emergency stored water supply. We recommend 20 litres of water per person, per day. 💧

Hello Everyone,

In case you haven't heard, we opened a brand new art studio here on The Esplanade; South Coast Studio.

We offer a variety of workshops including basic drawing, life drawing, perspective drawing, watercolours and sketch a pet.

We are baby friendly so parents can learn while hanging with the bubba during the day.
Parent and teen sessions offer great opportunity to explore a shared interest and spend time together.

Likewise, we welcome and encourage our senior neighbours to come and pursue their creative interests in an environment that is fun and supportive.

Would you like to organize a fun outing for your group? Private lessons or specific group requests are always catered for. Why not have an art event for a treat?

Check out our website for more information.
www.southcoaststudionz.com....
Get in touch with JoElle to sign up for a workshop 021 519 920.

Come join us, bring your mates and please spread the word if you know someone who may be interested.

A new bill supported by both major parties strips red tape from the building process in an effort to accelerate medium-density housing.
The rule change will allow people to build up to three homes of three storeys on most sites in Wellington without any need for resource consent from August 2022.

Kia ora Lambton Ward, Neighbours Day Aotearoa 2022 will be encouraging people to connect through kai. This could be sharing a cuppa, fresh produce, a recipe or hosting a picnic or BBQ.

We thought we would kick things off now by encouraging people to share a favourite recipe.

This could be a whānau favourite, your aunty’s special chutney, a secret (or potentially not!) curry dish, or your most-loved cake.

We’ll then share your recipe throughout the land for people to try, share, and enjoy within their communities.

Either email your recipe to kiaora@neighboursday.org.nz or submit it here - www.neighboursday.org.nz...
