The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

A front is expected to move east across New Zealand today and during Friday morning bringing a burst of heavy rain to many areas. The heaviest falls are expected in northwest Nelson where a heavy rain warning is now in force.

Strong wind gusts could damage trees, powerlines and unsecured structures. Driving may be hazardous, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles.

A severe gale warning is now in force for exposed parts of Marlborough, Wellington and Taranaki.
Valid: 15 hours from 9:00am Friday to 12:00am Saturday
Forecast: Southerly gales, severe gusting 120 km/h in exposed places.
