Price of milk in supermarkets (Khandallah New World, possibly elsewhere)

Charlotte from Khandallah

Beware people - supermarkets may be overcharging you for the products you buy. However the price charged at the till has … View moreBeware people - supermarkets may be overcharging you for the products you buy. An example - for a 2 litre bottle of Value brand light blue milk - New World Khandallah has the shelf price displayed at $3.74 and has had this price on shelf for many weeks. However the price charged at the till has increased a few times upwards to now being at $3.96. My understanding is that this is illegal - the price charged must match the price displayed. My husband has mentioned this several times to the checkout operators with a complete lack of interest. I guess gentleman that he is he doesn't want to make a big fuss in public or get held up in making a formal complaint that costs time.

Pretty in pastel

The Team from Resene ColorShop Johnsonville

Painted glass bottles make a stylish display on their own or with the addition of dried foliage. The paint is on the inside so they still have that lovely glass sheen. Use Resene testpots to co-ordinate with your home's colour palette.

We’ve developed a shortlist of three options and want to know what you think of them.

- New landfill on top of existing landfill (piggyback option) - the Council's preferred option.
- Waste to energy incineration.
- No residual waste facility in Wellington City.

Go to wcc.nz/letstalk for more info and to have your say. Submissions close 5pm Sunday 15 May 2022.

"Our beautiful endemic and endangered black-billed gull/tarāpuka (Chroicocephalus bulleri). Sometimes I've found them a little confusing to identify as in non-breeding plumage, black-billed gulls can have a two-coloured brownish and black bill and red legs, but they always have a longer, finer bill than a red-billed gull - that said there is also a little variation in the bill sizes. The two species sometimes hang out together as well to make it more confusing. Bird #57 in 2022."
