Reading group at Warkworth Library
The group is a branch of the wonderful organisation Reading Revolution NZ thereadingrevolution.org...
We meet every couple of weeks to read a short story and a poem brought along by a member of the group. We meet at the Warkworth Library from 10 to 11.30 on alternate Wednesdays (next meetings 12 June, 26 June etc). We are particularly keen to bring in people who have migrated to NZ recently and who would like to meet locals who are keen on reading. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
