Poll: Do you think religious education should be taught in state primary schools?
Allowing religious education to be taught in state schools has been a hot topic since it was made legal in the 1964 Education Act.
Schools are able to decide if they implement the classes but are required to "close" the school when teaching it - This is because they are still required to be secular when they are "open".
