Covid-19’s dent on Southland’s event economy has been estimated to be more than $6 million dollars in visitor spend.
Alert level restrictions meant major annual events like the Bluff Oyster Festival, Hokonui Fashion Design Awards, The Tussock Country Music Festival were cancelled when the country first went into lockdown.
