Sunday @ St Andrew's - UkuPella
UkuPella is a 20-something strong, adult female singing chorus from Waiuku. It performs all of their repertoire a capella, i.e. with no accompanying instruments. They make the whole sound through their blend of voices in three- or four-part harmony. Established in 2015, UkuPella is led by dedicated musical director Faye Meades.Their repertoire covers a mix of slower and more upbeat songs. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
