Best place for a summer swim
It’s easy to check the water quality of your favourite spot before you head out because Council’s recreational bathing sampling programme is underway, with weekly samples collected from 21 sites across Marlborough. Testing continues until March.
In summer the risk of catching an infectious disease from swimming in clear, clean water is usually low. However, after heavy rain, contamination can occur. As a rule of thumb, don't swim if the water looks dirty or murky, smells or has scum on its surface.
