The Marlborough District Council is looking at how to address excess recycling on existing kerbside routes in Blenheim and Picton. Earlier in the year it surveyed how many households put recycling crates out, and how full they were.
It found more than a third of households did not put their recycling bin out each week.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
