CHB Active Ageing Expo

Health Promotion from Age Concern Hawke's Bay - Waipukurau

Age Concern Hawke's Bay are very pleased to announce that we are hosting the CHB Active Ageing Expo here in Waipukurau on March 27th, 2025.The Expo will be held at the Centralines Sports Complex from 10am-1pm. Entrance is on the side by the Scout Hall.

Our Expo/Celebration has been planned for older persons and their families who at times struggle with not knowing “what’s out there for seniors”. Our aim is to bring together under one roof service providers and other organisations (e.g. clubs) from around Hawke's Bay to present a wide array of interesting and informative displays representing all facets of today's lifestyles for older people. The expo will provide the older community opportunity to find out about service providers and other organisations available to them in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.

The Expo will be a free community event. We will be providing a shuttle service between Takapau and Porangahau to help ensure anyone who wishes to attend can. Please call 06 858 9158 to register for transportation from either of those locations.

Mobile Health Van will be on site doing BP checks, offering advice and much more.

Free morning tea will be provided!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
