Northland's state highways are in a poor state - with some like Springs Flat falling to bits. NZTA says its summer repairs could not be done due to the Covid-19 lockdown. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Warrant to arrest: Steven Te Maru Walters
Police are working to locate Steven Te Maru Walters, who has a warrant for his arrest and is wanted by Police.
Walters, 40, is wanted by Police in relation to breaching his release conditions and is known to frequent the Whangārei area. It’s believed he is actively avoiding Police.
