Wool for Ukraine

Marianne from Rangiora

People have been very generous but I still need more wool. I still have a number of packs to fill. In the meantime I thought I'd share with you the progress the Lions and friends knitters have made. One huge tub of packs has already gone out to the amazing knitters. We have had a wonderful donation from Countrywide wools in Auckland for this project and is a big part of the latest box of knitting packs. On the second photo you can see a finished baby jacket that has come back like a homing pigeon. When I get all the scraps of wool back hats to match will be knitted, as the packs contain 2 patterns, a jacket and hat, but some packs do not have quite enough wool for the hat. It's a big learning curve for me. This is a big thanks for our community for their help and donations of pure wool. Thank you all.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
