Waimakariri Stadium taking shape and on track to open one year from now
Waimakariri’s new sports stadium could be in use by winter next year, provided no more unexpected hold-ups arise.
Construction on the $28 million facility began at the end of last year, and was initially planned to be completed by the end of May 2021.
Work stopped for several weeks due to the Covid-19 lockdown, pushing the project’s completion date out, although some areas are still ahead of schedule, including the steelwork construction.
