Standing for the Mayoralty
Howdy neighbours,
I’m Oliver Sanderson and I’m standing for the Mayoralty of the Waimakariri District. I’m standing because I want to bring a fresh new leadership approach to the role of Mayor. I believe the Mayor’s primary task is being the leader and advocate for the community - standing up and taking responsibility for the issues currently impacting our district.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
