Ashley Church Garage Sale

Jeneane from Rangiora

Lots happening today - including the Garage Sale and Market at Ashley Community Church! Plenty of white elephant and jumble items. The corner spa bath is still available as well as other bathroom fittings; an Ashford spinning wheel; over 10 metres of floaty gold sun filter curtaining fabric, clothing from 50 cents up to $50; kitchen ware (current and retro), shoes including large women's sizes, small furniture, books, puzzles, electronic items. We are also expecting Miss Olivia Art, The Rawleighs Man, and I will have a small selection of vintage and retro wares from my (usually) online shop - Dunedin Street Vintage.

I will be busy with the sale preparations from now on so probably can't answer questions. Come along and see! 12 noon - 4 pm today (Sunday 28 October) at the Ashley Church, 39 Canterbury St, Ashley.

Proceeds to our ongoing maintenance and restoration fund.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: Do you have a go-to adverse-weather checklist for your family? ☔⚠️

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Press, the same low-pressure system that lashed the North Island over the weekend is now making its way south, bringing heavy rain and strong winds with it. It’s a soggy start to the week for many of us.

With more wild weather on the cards, we’re curious: do you have a go-to adverse-weather checklist for your family? Or are you more of a “grab the torches and hope for the best” household?
