NIGHT LIGHTS GARDEN WALK
NIGHT LIGHTS GARDEN WALK – not to be missed!
Meadowcroft Garden, Otaki Gorge Road
APRIL 11th & 12th
After two very successful nights in 2024, with fabulous feedback, Neil and Avis MacInnes are again opening their special garden at night in April.
Discreet lighting brings the garden alive after dark and provides an opportunity to see another side of this unique garden - and to also raise funds for the Te Horo Hall. Very popular with daylight tours, the garden is usually only opened at night to friends and family, so this is a special second chance.
This year the exterior of Te Horo Hall needs to be reclad. Following successful earthquake strengthening in 2024, recladding will ensure long-term weather tightness as phase 2 of the Halls upgrade. Your support is much appreciated.

On both FRIDAY 11th & SATURDAY 12th of April Meadowcroft garden will open to all from 7pm – last entry 9.30pm.
$15pp and $5 for children under 12 years.
(Cash only please).
Bring family and friends and wander through this gorgeous garden amidst the lights. Due to water features and reduced lighting the garden is not suitable for young children, and no pets are allowed. Off road parking will be available
Please note:
Special care is required as there are steps, sloping pathways and ponds. Every effort has been made by the owners to ensure the garden and car parks safety. Both are entered at visitors own risk.
And – in case of bad weather, please go to our website on Thurs 10th April, to check if the event is going ahead – www.tehorohall.org.nz...
A BIG THANK-YOU to Neil and Avis for making their garden available again this year, and to the neighbouring Mansell family for use of their paddock for car parking.
*** Join us in this very special garden in April ***

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
