KCDC have uploaded a video about the Housing Survey to YouTube (currently unlisted): youtu.be...
They also have a full video – includes the six people they interviewed: youtu.be...
They will be using one or both of these videos over the coming weeks on our communications channels. We would love it if you would also share your video on social media and via your networks. We have included some key messaging below if it helps.
It’s time to Kōrero about housing.
Kāpiti is growing and so is the need for housing and greater support services.
Kāpiti Coast District Council is currently asking you to share your housing story and aspirations to help build a strong case for change. We need a stronger information base to support future discussions with Government and help Council, iwi, community organisations and other stakeholders to respond to current and emerging housing and social needs.
Your story counts, take the anonymous survey at haveyoursay.kapiticoast.govt.nz/housing or pick up a copy from your local library or Council service centre. Survey closes 5pm Friday 10 December.
Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
