Kāpiti Coast climate activism goes all the way to Zambia
Climate activism starts at home, but it doesn’t have to stay there.
On the Kāpiti Coast, there’s a little group making lots of noise.
The Kāpiti Coast Climate Action Group, are a band of suitably concerned climate activists raising awareness of the issues the coast will inevitably face as the earth warms.
In October, Sophie Handford and Rachel Barwell joined the Climate Leadership Transformation Summit in Zambia via Zoom, where the impacts of climate change are already significant.
The group was established in May 2019 by their mutual friend, former Kāpiti mayor Jenny Rowan, who rallied friends, asking: What can we do locally that can make a difference?
