Poll: Bay of Plenty, are we ready to take on the mozzies, or is it a lost cause?
Waikato against mozzies! 🦟 Is the Bay of Plenty ready to join the fight?
Researchers from Victoria University are on the hunt for Waikato properties to set traps as part of a project aimed at keeping the country safe from mosquito-borne diseases coming from across the ditch.
Backed by the Ministry for Primary Industries, the project is targeting high-risk areas—including Northland, Auckland, Bay of Plenty, and Hawke’s Bay—to keep a close eye on mosquito activity.
What do you think—are we ready to take on the mozzies, or is it a lost cause?

N8tidy - Another gutter cleaning completed today
Hi neighbours,
We completed a full gutter cleaning today on a single-storey home in the area of Enner Glynn. The gutters had accumulated a significant amount of leaves and dirt, which can eventually block downpipes and cause water overflow during heavy rain.
The service included
- removing the debris,
- brushing the inside of the gutters,
- flushing the system to verify proper water flow through the downpipes,
- finishing with a final clean of the gutter interior and exterior.
One interesting aspect of this property was that a single downpipe services a large section of the roof at the rear, which makes regular maintenance particularly important to avoid blockages.
The gutters are now fully cleared and the water flow has been tested and confirmed.
Looking at the amount of debris collected, it is a good reminder that regular gutter maintenance helps prevent much bigger problems later.
If anyone in the neighbourhood would like their gutters checked or cleaned before the wetter months arrive, feel free to get in touch via message or via email to info@n8tidy.com.
Have a great weekend,
Fred
