MONTHLY FUNDRAISER CAFE and CAR BOOT SALE
Did you know that, even though the Monthly Garage Sale with the Big Difference closed after THIRTY YEARS, the MONTHLY CAR BOOT SALE is continuing - alongside a new community event, a MONTHLY FUNDRAISER CAFE? All funds raised go to Circuit International, a home-grown organisation helping the poor and disadvantaged in Myanmar and also sponsoring a girl in Ethiopia through TEAR Fund.
Both of these events are put on at Upper Hutt Baptist Church's Community Centre, corner Fergusson Drive and Milton Street. FIRST SATURDAY EVERY MONTH! Car boot sites $15 need to be booked at 528-3454.
The FUNDRAISER CAFE opens from 10am till midday serving a pot of tea or percolated coffee with a slice of home-made cake for only $4. Some months, there's even live music and we're hoping to have a HOME BAKING TABLE with items for sale. Pop in on SATURDAY 1 AUGUST and check us out!
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
