This one is pretty simple. You're a Neighbourly member so connecting with your community is obviously pretty important to you. So this tip is more of a challenge; this year (or this weekend!) make it your mission to meet someone new living near you.

Here's a few things you can do to get you started:
- use the Neighbours Directory to find neighbours on your street.
- introduce yourself on Neighbourly to those living in your neighbourhood. Just a few words about yourself and what brought you here.
- Give something away or sell something! A Neighbourly exchange gives you a chance to meet someone new.
- just head out the door and knock on someone else's!
______
Remember 86% of Kiwis want to get to know their neighbours better, but just don't see them around much (71%). Take the first step!

The latest update I have from UHCC:

"Thanks for your comments and support. Yes the response of some people has been disappointing with general rubbish eg fruit, paint etc amongst the recycled goods and continuing to offload whilst the facility is closed. The costs to provide recycling are very high without people abusing the service. We have to close it on alternate days so that the container can be taken down to the recycle centre at Seaview for unloading. A camera has gone in today and we will have staff on site during the week. "

Hope that answers our queries.
Thanks UHCC.

We listened and got to work and are about two thirds of the way through the plans. So come and check them out inside our kitted out container. There will be heaps of attractions coming and going including a coffee cart, food truck, jazz band and fitness programme and heaps more.
