Maidstone Max set to reopen in May
The city council is hoping to open Maidstone Max. Bad weather has delayed progress.
It will feature a new double accessible toilet block near the young children’s play area, seating and picnic tables, shade elements, waste/recycling bins, lighting and security cameras.
Enlarged state-of-the-art skate park, new half basketball court, refurbished flying fox, and a pump track for younger/learner scooter and bike riders are also part of the design.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
