For the many parents who choose for their own reasons, such as culture, to get their baby's ears pierced we are able to help.
We have experience piercing ears of all ages, and regularly do baby piercings.

As only a few of our staff can do this, please call ahead to check that someone is available.

Cost is approx $25.00 and includes the earrings, piercing and antiseptics. ( it may be a few dollars more if you choose more expensive earrings)

For VERY young babies, we may not be able to pierce both ears at once, due to how tricky it can be to access their ears.

We find that babies seldom cry for more than a few seconds after piercing. It's usually the Mum who has the most tears!

This year's event runs from March 20 - 30th with the theme being 'The Great Plant Swap' as an easy way for neighbourhoods to grow stronger together.

Here's some ideas for ways you could get involved:

• swap seeds with a neighbour
• gift a plant you've grown to a neighbour
• take some flowers to a neighbour
• organise a produce swap
• share garden tips or recipes for food in season
• create community gardens or berm pollinator pathways
• host an inclusive garden-themed working bee
• a friendly neighbourhood BBQ with homegrown ingredients

The options are endless! At the end of the day, our shared aim is to help bring people together by encouraging intentional connection with our neighbours. Whether that be organising a street party, sharing a cuppa, or simply saying ‘Kia Ora!” to those who live around you, every action helps to create a safer and more connected New Zealand.

"It was a fantastic day out, from the awesome Rams volunteers, to the ability to mix with the players, yummy food and beverages, and even the recycling set-up – we are super proud. The Hurricanes loved playing on our recently upgraded ‘sand carpet’ pitch too, with some saying it’s the best in the region."
The council is reminding people it is still working on design of a sports hub at Maidstone Park and will soon be sharing the design with locals.
