$3.8 million Maidstone Max play area reopens
Upper Hutt has reopened a $3.8 million play area which has been touted as an attraction for families around the Wellington region.
Maidstone Max features a completely remodelled playground with accessible features for wheelchair users, state-of-the-art skate park, pump track and half basketball court following a nine-month redevelopment.
Mayor Wayne Guppy fired a confetti cannon at the grand opening on Saturday with the help of local kids who were let loose on the facility for the first time.
“It’s not just an investment in our youth and young people. It’s an investment in Upper Hutt as a family-oriented city.”
