The Hutt River is no place for vehicles

Reporter Community News

Greater Wellington is reminding locals not to drive in the Hutt River.

"Te Awa Kairangi / Hutt River is a taonga for all to enjoy - with many opportunities for recreation including walking, cycling, picnicking, swimming and fishing. Driving motor vehicles through the river channel is strictly prohibited. Please look after and respect our waterways. Using the river as a motorway or performance testing area for your vehicle unnecessarily harms the ecosystem and environment."
