According to Food Standards Australia New Zealand, the average Kiwi eats 15 meat pies a year – three more than the average Australian consumes – meaning the team of five million puts away more than 76 million pies a year.
A Napier company, Goodtime Pies, has announced it is ramping up its production to 14 million pies, sausage rolls and savouries a year.
