My favourite wine from this year’s New World Wine Awards is the Tohu Single Vineyard Riesling and for many reasons! First, it’s delicious with a zingy acidity. Secondly, it has a great story - all wine should start a conversation and the people behind this wine and their governance of the land give you plenty of that. Lastly, the wine sums up what the New World Wine Awards is all about: helping customers discover new wines that surprise and delight.” And Bob Dunkerly from New World Thorndon’s pick is the Stoneleigh Latitude Marlborough Chardonnay. “It’s an excellent wine, with delicious stone fruit flavours. It’s very approachable for anyone wanting to give Chardonnay a try.”

Come into your local New World and explore the Top 50 Gold-medal winning wines – we have winners for every budget. Plus join us for complimentary wine sampling and try before you buy.

This work will take up to a month to complete. We don't have exact dates yet but we wanted to make sure we let everyone know what is going on before we get started.

Pedestrian and cyclist access will remain open via the use of a footbridge. Check our other entrances in the map provided, to see where you can gain access to the park.

This closure is so we can place a new bridge across the stream. Our current bridge has a loading limit that is sometimes ignored by larger vehicles. While it is inspected regularly, the bridge is also at risk of being washed away or damaged in high rainfall events. For everyone’s safety, we agreed we needed to do something about this bridge.

We're sorry for this inconvenience, however this is important work that we need to carry out to future proof our park. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for more updates on the project.

If you have any questions, message us on social media, call the contact centre on 0800 496734 or check out the FAQ’s here:
