Malfunctions of Being Human - Knot Theatre Production

Teresa from Riverstone Terraces

“I like order. Like when there is an amount of numbers in order, like 25, 26, 27 or if it’s a prime number like 19, 23, 29, 31. It makes sense and it works. I like to say numbers to myself when I feel uncomfortable, like the pi equation or the different paint shades of the colour blue. Order helps me recall the memories I’ve lost in my brain. But if I can’t remember most things, how am I supposed to be happy?”

With medication there will always be malfunctions. We are in the future where the world's technology has advanced enough for people to redesign their personalities. By taking the humanity enhancer called ‘The Normal’ the world is to be a perfect society. But what happens to those that aren't perfect? What happens to the people who don’t respond to the normal?

When pilot ‘Teddy’ crash lands and loses most of his memory in an unknown place, he must work out who he is and why he is there. Knot Theatre debuts Sacred Heart Colleges 2018 School production ‘Malfunctions of Being Human’ written by Georgia Kellett and Anna Secker. Will it be living among utter chaos that Teddy can find order? Directed by Anna Secker and Produced by Georgia Kellett, the production will be showcased on the 26th-28th of July at Sacred Hearts Performing Arts Center in Lower Hutt.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online at www.eventbrite.co.nz... and picked up at SHC school office or on the performance nights.
