Grey Power Christmas social meeting
GPUH's Christmas social meeting has had to change its venue with the very recent announcement that Hapai Rooms have been closed. No charge to come to our end-of-year social meeting, taking place at EXPRESSIONS, starting at 1.30pm and ending around 2.45pm.
Entertainment will be provided by Lydia McDonnell, a talented singer/musician, followed by afternoon tea.
There'll be an opportunity to win one of the raffles for a small fee. Grey Power is not just for retirees - you can join at age 50+ and, when you're a member (for a small annual fee) you can join Grey Power Electricity (Pulse Energy) which now offers power, gas, landline and broadband at competitive prices.
You'll be very welcome to come and check us out tomorrow, Wednesday 20 November at EXPRESSIONS - doors open 1.30pm.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
