How do you see the future?

Upper Hutt City Council

We’re working through a review of our District Plan and are proposing some big changes for residential and rural development. It’s called Plan Change 50. We’re seeking your feedback on our draft proposals now.

Two areas of significant interest for our community will be what’s being proposed for rural development.

🐑Like enabling more options for rural-residential living through rural lifestyle and settlement zones, easing consent flexibility and increasing climate resilience.
🍅And protecting our rural high class soils to enable future primary production and localised food growing opportunities.

To read the fact sheets for both of these zones and to share your feedback, go to letskorero.upperhuttcity.com/pc50

Feedback closes 30 August 2021

HAS CNN GOT IT RIGHT

Michael from Trentham

Set the scene:
CNN today showed a preview of a movie about reforming Pope Francis and the clips ended with a riled up Pope raising his voice to a person - maybe a Bishop or Cardinal inside the Vatican in Rome.
Immediately after this came on screen the headline: SINNER LEADS ITALY TO WIN IN DAVIS CUP.
Sinner is a member of the Italian team.

Gave me a laugh.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
