Time for a clear-out?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Delve back into that garage or wardrobe! It's time to sell your gently-loved goods at The Neighbourly Winter (online!) Garage Sale

On Saturday 6th July, members will be online checking out the goods on offer so it's a great time to get rid of your winter clutter.

Maybe it's time to realise that you're never going to use that snowboard or ski jacket, and that you really do have one too many heaters. Whatever it is, take a picture and put it on Neighbourly for locals to see.

MOA NO MORE

Michael from Trentham

Maori hunted the Moa into oblivion.
There were at keast several types of Moa some giant size towering well above humans - more than twice the he8ight, other Moa were not much bigger than Kiwi.
What I cannot understand why there seems no record of Maori keeping a Moa or two as pets.

Moa were quite harmless fligjtless birds.

I see other races in other parts of the world had .made pets from otherwise lethal animals from crocodiles to elephants from snakes to lions from eagles to emus.

Perhaps we would have moa still with us today if Maori who had dogs as pets, had looked to tame some moa.

REWARD AND NO REWARD

Michael from Trentham

TV One has two regular sub programmes that rewards ndividual do-gooders with a $10,000 payment to do whatever with or simply pocket. The recipients also reap promotion and publicity for their particular charitable etc work. wanted or not. The other gives nothing but a spot on television and perhaps assitance of publicity and promotion.

In many programmes I have watched of the latter the difference between the money winners and the no-money winners is blurred beyond reason. I sit there thinking why didn't that person feature on the other programme and receive a sponsored cash reward?

Shame on TV One.
