Commuters' 70 year wait will go on for at least 15 more months

When double tracking is completed in 2021 trains will finally be able to pass each other on the 2.7 kilometre stretch of rail corridor north of Trentham without having to give way. The section of track has been a major bottleneck and the source of delays for decades.
