So decided to read the minutes of the meeting, in order to educate myself on:
1. Why the decision was made
2. Who voted for and who voted against.
Another disappointment: no accountability at all, and we voters, are left blind on who is doing what.
The minutes only record the number of "elected members" who voted for and against.
Really????? Where is the transparency?

Council meets this Wednesday, 28 July 2021, at 4.30pm.and alongside approving the minutes of all the Committee meetings in the last six or so weeks, we will be considering a new street name in Brown Owl/Timberlea, updating the District Licencing Committee Terms of Reference, and a Notice of Motion to delay the consultation on the plan change regarding Significant Natural Areas.

Upper Hutt Mayor Wayne Guppy said all options, including apartments, are on the table for the future development of Main Street. A recent social media post by Marita Manns Maass resulted in a wide ranging discussion on the future of the main shopping street.
Maass, who described the "street as a dog's breakfast" suggested the council should look to Europe for design inspiration and for ways to reduce the number of empty shops.
Ideas suggested included making the street pedestrian only.
Tell us what you would like to see done with the street to make it more attractive.
