Rotary Giant Charity BookFest 2019
Browse the biggest pre-loved book sale you ever saw!
Since inception in 1995 in early May each year several thousand people gather to browse over some 100,000 books, magazines, games, puzzles, CDs, DVDs and vinyl records.
Extensive selection of children's books.
Sausage sizzle and our famous homemade ginger beer available. There is plenty of car parking available.
About four months before the BookFest, Heretaunga Rotary sets up collection points for used (PRE-LOVED) books at supermarkets and selected retail outlets. Many people donate books they no longer need and we coordinate their collection, sorting and presentation in one mighty annual book sale.
BookFest is the Heretaunga Rotary Club's major annual fundraising event. Since its beginning, this event has raised over $800,000 for charitable works, concentrating mainly on youth in the Upper Hutt area.
Many local businesses lend their support towards the organisation of BookFest resulting in a range of local Community groups directly benefiting from this combining of Community resources.
Thanks for supporting BookFest and our community!
