Changes coming - Upgraded station Plastics types 1 & 2 only
The next phase of our Park Street Recycling Station opens tomorrow.
- 24/7 access
- Improved disability access
- New layout
- Glass bins still in carpark
Only plastics numbered 1 and 2 will be accepted.
Plastics numbered 3 – 7 will not be accepted at the upgraded recycling station as there are currently no domestic nor international markets for them. Plastics numbered 1 (such as soft drink bottles) can be recycled by Lower Hutt’s Flight Plastics. Plastics numbered 2 (such as milk bottles) are recycled by Budget Plastics in Palmerston North.
Always check for the number on a plastic container to determine if it can be recycled ( 1 or 2 only).
