Donate your curtains this winter
Wellington Curtain Bank needs 300 more pairs of curtains before the end of winter to meet demand. Supported by Sustainability Trust, the Curtain Bank provides free, lined curtains to low-income families who need a hand to warm up their homes. We upcycle donated curtains and need a ready supply to support the more than 500 families a year who apply for them. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
