Greater Wellington Regional Council is looking for an operator for the new system, which could arrive in Wellington as soon as 2020. Each time you jump on public transport around the nation, you would swipe your credit or debit card and be charged the most cost-effective fare. What do you think? Would this be better than our current system? Why? Comments may be used in print unless stated otherwise with NFP (Not For Print)

The traditional sausage sizzle fundraiser is being given a healthy makeover as part of a scheme to improve Kiwis' health.
Healthy Families is trying to convince charities to sell healthier foods, rather than the traditional fried sausages on white bread with tomato sauce. What do you think? Do we need to make sausage sizzles healthier or is this messing with a Kiwi tradition? Comments may be used in print unless stated otherwise with NFP (Not For Print).

Complementing the Expressions Music Festival this Queen’s Birthday weekend is another intimate Kiwi music event in Upper Hutt. Juliet McLean is a singer and songwriter from New Plymouth, appearing with her band in a house concert at “The Rabbit Hole”.
McLean’s music is poetically described: “Imagine Natalie Merchant quietly meeting Nick Cave and softly leading him into a tango - sensual, soulful, a gentle reminder of the lost places of the heart. Juliet and her band playfully invite you to join this dance, threading through different jazz infused genres with her piano and vocal led music.”
Mclean's collaboration with Rob Ju (drums) Hamish Cameron (bass) and Richie Isaacs (guitar) began during recording sessions and has developed into a fine live performance - the skilful musicians navigating a course of virtuosity and restraint. They have played in theatres, clubs, bars and lounges, piano shops and parks, always delighting in the alchemy of live music.
Juliet released her EP "The Dance" in 2016 and has a new single out in June.
The venue is “The Rabbit Hole”, a lifestyle property in Birchville. The house concerts are part of the rich tapestry of life there that includes “wwoof” (World Wide Opportunities On Farms) hosting, Air BnB hosting, organic gardening and orchards and plenty of music as host Sean O’Connor is also a singer/songwriter with his own performing and recording projects.
Door sales are $15. To book contact Sean: seanoconnornz@gmail.com or 0223503969.
