Fundraising for the Patoka/ Puketitiri/ Rissington community.
Hi neighbours, I wanted to feel like I was doing something to help people massively affected by the cyclone, so I have 'adopted' this community. A chopper will be flying much needed goods into them and this Give a Little page (see link below) is to fundraise for that. If you have animal feed you would be willing to donate: dog, cat, chicken or calf food, I am willing to take a load down to Taupo to the chopper base. I live near Matamata and could collect feed between here and Taupo. Please contact me if you could donate some feed and if we get enough for a load, I will go down on Tuesday or Wednesday. If you prefer to donate cash to Give a Little, any amount would be most welcome. Many thanks.

Wild weather in the Waikato
The Waikato really copped it over the weekend, with wild weather leaving a hefty clean-up bill that may run into the millions.
While things are looking calmer in the days ahead, there are still plenty of slips and flooded roads across the district — so if you’re heading out, take it easy and stay alert.
We want to know: How did you and your whānau get on over the weekend?
