From Monday 9 December to Sunday 15 December, it’s ‘Shop Local Week’, where we’re asking readers to rally behind their local businesses. They’re the heart of communities, and as we’re heading into Christmas, it’s the perfect time to do a spot of shopping!

We’ve partnered with 2degrees, which is offering a $20,000 media spend package for a business in the Waikato to put towards promoting themselves. Nominate your favourite local retailer or let them know they can nominate themselves through this link.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
