Attempted Robbery
On Sunday, at approximately 7.40pm, there was an attempted theft of an Isuzu Trooper almost 4km north of Tokoroa on our lifestyle block. The trespasser was interupted by our friends and left the property. While I was on the phone to the police I noticed what appeared to be a grey 1995 Ford Spectron van parked a few hundred meters up the road. When the police went to investigate the van it resulted in back up being called in. So, clearly the van and it's occupant or occupants were of interest. I'm just really gutted by the actions of people like this. They have no respect for anyone else or anyone else's property. They also entered a building on our property that I was only minutes away from locking for the night. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who might have any further information regarding this incident so I can let everyone in town know who they are and what they did.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
