But KidsCan is helping. Since October they've been delivering five fresh meals a week to 25 early childhood centres, and kitting out kids with new raincoats and shoes. They want to extend the programme, so no one misses out on learning.
KidsCan, Neighbourly and Stuff have partnered up to raise enough money to feed and clothe 1000 more children under five. To support a child, sign up at KidsCan.org.nz.

Over half a million dollars paid out by ACC for injuries put down to the Lime scooters. I hope the businesses concerned are being billed for that lot. I can't believe the Auckland Council allowed them to carry on renting them out for so long. I don't believe they belong on footpaths or on the road. I suppose that as always it will take a serious injury before the authorities close them down permanently. If an elderly or a young person gets hit, it could well be a fatality. I have always understood that footpaths are for foot traffic. (Freedom scooters excepted). No skates, skate-boards, scooters or bicycles, but it seems that over the last 20 or so years it has become open slather for anything that does not require a licence or registration being used on our footpaths. It's bad enough here when school comes out and it becomes a free for all down Alexandra St with bicycles etc. Come on Government, Councils and Police, put an end to the stupidity that has taken over our footpaths.

With this enchanting ballet complimented by a Tchaikovsky’s arrangement. ”Alice In Wonderland" tells the story of a young girl who is whisked away to a magical world of wonder. Falling through a rabbit hole she meets magical creatures both strange and mysterious on her adventure to find her way home.
Join the White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter as Alice ventures through Wonderland. This all new ballet is perfect for all ages and is a magical portrayal of the classical story. Over a year in the making Melbourne City Ballet is set to entertain across Australia and New Zealand and bring a smile to both ballet audiences with its exquisite choreography and non ballet audiences through its dynamic story telling.
“I am so delighted to be bringing this ballet to New Zealand, my second home, having spent over 10 years of my career at the Royal New Zealand Ballet, it is a dream come true to stage this fantastic new ballet across the country” Bradshaw said.
“ The magic I felt the watching the cartoon as a child has inspired me to take on this partnership with Brendan. I want to be able to capture what I experienced as a child, and recreate it for audiences across Australia and New Zealand” Michael Pappalardo.
With 40 unique costumes and newly designed tour-able sets, this ballet is sure to be a colourful and playful rendition on this story.
In true Melbourne City Ballet fashion the company brings a feast of movement to the stage. “We work very hard to produce breathtaking ballets at MCB. We work closely with the dancers to ensure that
everything comes together from the portrayal of the characters to how the whole ballet works together, we want a show that speaks to the audience through the whole journey.”
Tickets are available from The Plaza or Eventfinda:
$40 -Adults
$30 - Senior
$20 - Child
